How to find and use government documents in the library.

What are Government Documents?

The University of the Cumberlands is a selective Federal Depository Library. 

We house government documents and make them freely accessible to the public in many formats:

  1. Electronic/Online
  2. Media - i.e. CD-ROM
  3. Print - Books and Serials
  4. Microform

The University of Kentucky houses our regional Federal Depository Library, meaning they recieve all government publications.  Check out their guide for more information:

Accessing Government Documents in the Library


Print and media (CD's, DVDs, Maps)
 government documents are available for consultation on the first floor of the University of the Cumberlands library.  Please ask at the Circulation or Reference Desk for assistance in finding and using these documents.

Microform government documents are available on the first floor of the library and can be used with our Microform readers.  Please contact the Instruction Media Library Desk or Reference Desk for assistance in using the readers.

Online documents are available through the library catalog.  Search the UC Cat for the document you need, click the document title, and then click the link in the detailed record to access it online.
